Recreational Pilot’s Permit
A recreational pilot permit is the quickest and least expensive way to get you flying. A recreational pilot may fly any single engine (up to four seats), land or seaplane, during day VFR conditions, in Canadian airspace, with a maximum of one passenger.
Requirements
a) Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
b) Must possess at least a Category 4 medical
c) Minimum hours required are:
i. Minimum of 25 hours of flight training.
ii. 15 hours of dual instruction.
iii. 2 hours of dual cross-country.
iv. 5 hours of solo flight time.
d) Minimum grade of 60% on Transport Canada written examination in all 4 sections:
i. Aeronautics
ii. Meteorology
iii. Airlaw
iv. Navigation
